I was looking at my banking statement and noticed a charge for $199.95 from MWI*Connec. I contacted my bank's customer service and they gave me the full name — MWI Connections — with a phone number of 1-888-868-6216.
I called this 1-888 number and was prompted to enter your membership # or home telephone #. Right off the bat I smelled scam since the customer service rep, Denise (#17097) wouldn't tell me what MWI Connections line of business was until I gave her more information. So she offered to pass me to a 'supervisor'.
I got a supervisor and he informed me that MWI has a lot of companies and I needed to tell him exactly which one made the charge for $199.95. I asked him to hold and the next thing I know is I get disconnected.
Apparently, MWI charged me $1.95 back in Dec and I didn't even realize it! What kind of company is this? It's unbelievable that this company is a $475M (illion) public company that trades under the symbol MBRS. If they scam innocent consumers like this, imagine what their financial books look like!!!
I decided to cancel my card and deal w/my bank in disputing the charges. I hope I get my money back.
