I read the web site on the shreveport job corps in louisiana it sound like an fresh new start since my mom kicked me out of the house. On the site they tell you that you get a clothing allowance each month along with extra money to spend. They also say they are a drug free campass and that they are the best job corps in louisiana. They will tell you that they work with your student one on one. I was there for 3 months dealing with gay guys trying to touch me I filed several complaints but none were taken serious.
I'm a regular church member in the Job Corps handbook clearly states that they will not hold you from church. Since i go to church twice a week they stop giving me passes and told me that I can sign myself out. Church ends at 8:30pm I dont get back till 9:00pm that night because of the drive. So the next day I get a paper saying that im restricted on campass for 14 days. I filed a complaint about the situation and they did nothing about it.
Today they kept saying that they were going to make me a non resident but they have been saying that for the past 2 1/2 months then they go off saying that they are going to kick me out of the program but they dont they are all talk no action they wait till the student gets tired of the threats and quites so they look good. Also today I had a friend loss his cell phone (note this friend is white Job corps is 99% black and 1% white) they guy he is talking to is black the guy tells him that he should have had his phone in his pocket I told my friend in front of them "they wont help use because we are white this campasI is racist anyways i mean they have black people walking off campous bypassin security but if its a white person they stop you and ask for a pass if you dont have one they dont let you go. But if you say did you ask that black for a pass he will say what black guy i did not see one there are two white security officers the rest are black the white security dont care what color you are they will ask for a pass but the not the black security officers they only see white." the intructor was tell the other introuctors everything i said in front of them and call me racist i have no problem with black people some of my best friends are black but they are also well mannered and dont call people the N word of downgrade people.
I advise you that if you are trying to get into Job Corps then you are making a very bad decision. You should evaluate your decision before you waist you time with job corp they are not orentated to helping you they just want you for head count to make money from the the gov that support them with our tax monies. They will tell you accountability is important but they refuse to be accountable with what the program was designed to really be.
