Patience Bristol attempted to help me cheat on my guardian certification test for $3,000 cash. I chose Patience as my CGC proctor because we had met in an earlier working relationship. Ms. Bristol said, if I gave her $3,000 my guardianship certification would be guaranteed. She went on to say "don't worry about answering any of these questions." This offer wasn't anything I wanted a part of. I decided to listen to what she had to say. Patience said the Nevada guardianship community was a closed group. The people on the inside receive all of the rich cases. Ms. Bristol went on to say if I gave 15% of all guardian fees to Jared Shafer everything would be fine. If a family was a problem, Commissioner John NorHeim would take care of it.
If I need cases NorHeim would give them to me. Even more shocking if a family challenged any court ruling Judge Charles Hoskin would stand behind NorHeim. Ms. Bristol told me certain health care agencies were in this group including: www.keepyoucompany.com and http://oasishomehealth.com. Ms. Bristol said if I was reasonable things would work out just fine. Patience said "this is the way we do things in Las Vegas." I left her home deciding not to take the CGC exam. Patience Bristol who is 35, has a page on face book, and very proud of herself believes she has the world in her pocket. I have reported this conversation to the CGC and they state the matter will be investigated. After this experience I believe the guardianship industry in Nevada is in a lot of trouble. My sister who lives in Arizona knows the climate for guardians is much better. It is not safe to grow old in Nevada.
