UoP Deceptive Enrollment Counsellors, Scandalous Financial Aid Department, No Access to Decision Makers

I saw some warning online before I signed up with UoP, and disregarded them. I thought these were most likely a loud miniority voicing their complaints. I thought my experience would likely be a better one than what I read.

Of key importance to me, was expediency in disbursement of my student loan funds. I was relying upon these funds so that I wouldn't have to work as much, and could focus on school.

The enrollment counsellor informed me that it would most likely happen within six weeks of my enrollment.

Two and a half months later, I have been handed off to four different financial aid counsellors. Finally, the fourth one tells me the truth. That my enrollment counsellor flat out lied to me, no one ever receives their disbursement within that time frame.

I began classes August 25th, it is now December 11th, and I still have not received my student loan funds. Every person I talk to tells me the same thing, "I don't know why this has happened, I can't do anything to resolve your problem, all I can do is report back to you what the situation is."

They say this situation isn't typical, but I believed that the bad experiences of other people were not likely to happen to me when I enrolled. I let them know up front with my concerns were, and they said whatever it took to get me signed up, and have not bothered to follow through on anything they said to me since then.

What's worse, is that I am 1/5th through this one-year post-graduate program, and I have learned as much as I learned in 1/5th of a human resources class as an undergrad. That class costed me $407. This program costs $11,000.

What a scam these people are. One UoP representative actually told me, "I usually just tell students not to worry about their student loan disbursement. I don't want to hear what you need your student loan disbursement for, because really it's only supposed to pay for _direct_ educational expenses, like tuition and books."

I trusted them with three things: process my paperwork, disburse my funds, and give me a post-graduate level education. They have barely processed my paperwork, have not disbursed my funds, and the education I have received is empty of any real content and value. My degree will be worthless, and I know exactly why.

I wish I would have known about this from the beginning, I would _never_ have signed up with them. I hope this serves as a warning to others like me. Once you sign up, they have a legally binding contract/committment from you. I am considering fighting it in court, because I was so blatantly lied to. Don't let them lie to you, also record your phone conversations, they won't give you anything in writing.
