In november 02, i bought an externa cdrw (buslink) from tiger direct. Tiger direct only have a 30 day warranty. I had to upgrade my pc so i did'nt get to the buslink cdrw for over a month. This item carries a year warranty. The model is usb 446.
I contacted buslink about 10 times as everytime i installed on my newly upgraded system, whenever i went to reboot, this unit would not let me reboot or shutdown. I went through all the troubleshooting for this model inly that buslink has on the net and nothing happened. Stiil no reboot no shutdown unitil i uninstalled this unit from my pc.
I finally contacted the attorney general oc california anfd filed a compliant. Only then did buslink reply, finally buslink sent me a new usbcdrw, and guess what? This unit faulty. Don't buy the model 446 unless you want misery. I have an extended with tiger direct that begins in november, i will send it back to them and try to buy another cdrw. But not buslink. Oh.
About two months ago, i bought a pacific digital usbcdrw, and it works perfectly. I llove this unit. A great backup. Don, t buy buslink usb cdrw446 because you will regret it. Good luck.
