So, I had worked on my final assignment several times. The class was ending at midnight and the assignment had to be turned in. I turned the paper in and the time stamp said 12:00 EXACTLY. I received a post in my individual forum stating that the assignment was late and I got a zero.
Here is my argument. Yes, I waited til the last minute to post it, but it was not late.
Before the paper was due, we received a reminder from the teacher in the MAIN forum. This is what it read:
Hi everyone,
Just a friendly reminder that our course ends tonight, at midnight, Arizona time. Any work submitted at 12:01am or after cannot be accepted per Axia's policy.
With that being said, I had no reason to view Axia's policy because my instructor clearly stated in her reminder, what I believed to be, Axia's policy.
It was received before 12:01 am and I feel that it should be graded. I have spoken to the teacher about it, and she says that we shouldn't go by what the teacher says, we should always refer to Axia's policies. WTF? She is the instructor that is soooo qualified, yet she doesn't know the policies herself? Also, when I was talking to her on the phone about it, her husband was in the background telling her what to say. When I confronted her about that, she said that he was also an instructor and he knows the policies as well as she does... What a joke, right?
I have filed a grade dispute and I am waiting right now... Could anyone give me feedback or let me know what you think about the situation.
BTW... My financial aid money is on hold until this situation is figured out and I was told that I would have to pay for the class out of pocket and I already received a bill in the mail!
