I sent in all required materials to claim a $30 rebate for an SMC wireless router:
-claim was denied because "trans# missing, altered receipt". Since I sent in the original receipt this was impossible-and I couldn't just fax in a copy of the receipt.
-called and told them the receipt was an original and could not be missing any information. Was told I had to resubmit receipt. I asked for a supervisor but was told I could not be connected and anyway "would be told the same thing".
-went back the The Wiz to get a copy of the receipt, which I faxxed in. Denied again because the fax was illegible. Called again and told to mail in the receipt copy.
This is clearly designed to wear me down so I give up. I sent the information about this experience to SMC (mfr) but never received a response. The worst part about the whole experience was the fact that wheresmyrebate.com would not allow me to speak to anyone other than a clerical to get satisfaction.
