I signed with the company while having chemo therapy to enhance my office skills. After getting the materials I found I was studying items I myself had taught in Jr. High. The computer software called Star Office is a program geared to European programs and has not been used in this country for many years. I took the program outline and materials to our Community College and was told I could have gotten this info for free at the High School. I spoke with the school about the computer software a Mr. English, was told what I received is what you get. The Star Office program is a waste of money for someone in this country. The software is over 5years old and out of date. I refused to pay for a program that is not accredited.
Yesterday, I received a call from my mother in Florida that a woman by the name of Judy had called from USBC collections. I called back and believe me the conversation was not nice, that Strafford Career Institute is demanding payment of the full amount $211.00. I told her I refused to pay her and would deal directly with the school. I was told she has orders from the Strafford Career Institute to call me everyday until they are paid. This company needs to be put out of business. I will be filing a complaint with my congressman and the US Education Dept.
