I attended this school for Scuba Diving in Manzanillo Mexico. I was attracted to this school for the price and amenities. After doing much research, I sent the payments, paid in full, for my entire course. I was entering this program as an open water scuba diver and paid all the way to instructor. The website advertised air conditioned accommodations. This is very important considering you are in South Mexico where it is extremely hot! I was placed in a room with A/C and 1 other roommate for approx. 2 weeks. I was then moved to a smaller room with 2 other roommates and NO A/C! I inquired many times about the A/C situation and was told that the hotel (more like a motel) was doing tests on the A/C units because supposedly they were using too much electricity. Meanwhile, the new students arriving were placed in my old room with A/C where they remained for 1 week and moved to another room with no A/C. The reason for this move was the owner of Neptune's did not want to pay for the extra electricity for the rooms that were advertised on the website. Second, there are numerous safety issues with this dive shop... No marine radio on the small and uncomfortable dive boat, no oxygen in case of an emergency, lack of equipment, equipment in poor condition, just to name a few. Numerous complaints have been sent to PADI regarding this operation, its policies and procedures, professionalism, and safety. I am an older individual with a professional career. I was lied about by the management and its staff and forced to leave the program. I requested a refund for the portion of the course I did not finish. I was told there are no refunds and away I went.
I am now out $5000.00 I have since filed a formal complaint with PADI myself along with numerous other individuals. The owner has also had his certification revoked form NAUI and this should be a HUGE wake-up call to anyone even thinking about attending this extremely poorly run facility. We all work very for the money required to attend these types of schools. Please don't make this very costly mistake like and others have made. There are many excellent PADI education centers and they (PADI) are a fantastic and supportive organization. Unfortunately, there are some Bad apples and this is one of them! Do not attend this school! Remember, the old saying, You get what you pay for.in my personal opinion, and the opinion of my wallet, you will regret it.
