College Partnership a.K. A The Smith & Merritt Institute contacted us when my son was in the 9th Grade with promies to help us with SAT preparation, research on Scholarships and assistance in getting him college Scholorships. We thought it would save us valuable time and in theory was worth the $1,500. My husband and son attended a College Partnership at a Holiday Inn (which helped to provide validity since the Holiday Inn is well known and respected) My husband wrote an advance on out credit card for S1,500 to pay. Our son in now in 11th grade and we have not been able to reach College Partnership by phone or email. Then I checked the internet and found many victims of this scam. We have a glossy binder and nifty DVD describing the merits of this company, but the word SCAM is missing. I will be pursuing legal recourse.
