I check my checking account on a daily basis. Today I see I had a charge for $99.95 on my account for a company called MKS*SimpleEscapes2. So I had a talk with my girlfriend to try and firgure out if we done something that we might of missed on the ledger. After about 20 minutes came up with nothing.
I decided to call my bank but had to wait 1 hour do to the fact it wasnt opened yet. This is early A.M.
I researched and found all these complaints on the internet and I started thinking the worst. We had made hotel reservations online and I thought that company sold me out to this company.
So 9 A.M. Shows up and I call the bank. I talked to customer service and they said lots of times companys charge under a different name than advertised. I knew this was not the case. So they gave me the contact # on the charge 1-888-404-5629. Said if I didnt get the money back call them and they would file against them.
So now its around 9:10 A.M. I call the number got a recording teling me to please hold, then some guys answers the phone that could barely if at all speak a lick of english. I got upset and wanted to speak to someone that spoke english. Believe me he can not speak the language. So he transfers me to another person, or did he hangup on me because thats what happened.
Called back someone else picks up the phone. Person sounds like he comes from Europe. He tells me I signed up. I said NOT! I asked how exactly I signed up. He tried to give me a sales pitch and I abruptly cut him off and said I want to know how I signed up. He told me through a internet ad. I was like what? He said it was for a $25.00 gift card from K-mart in January. Now I know I wouldn't be interested in K-mart.
I said how did you get my info? HE said my ISP. Now im really getting MAD! Come to find out I got internet service through the UAW who intern gets it a cheap price from who else none other than AOL.
The company says once you click this you have 90 days then they charge you the amount and get the charging info from AOL to do it.
Funny thing is! I let my Mother use this account. She doesnt even live in the same house, and I know she doesnt have any of my credit info. Trust me! She is lucky to remember my phone # let alone address and banking info.
Well I demanded my money back. After numerous sales pitch attemps the gentleman said he would put it through. Said it would take 3-5 buisness days. Didn't catch his name but his ID#16193
If i dont get my money back I will unleash the Dogs. UAW Lawyers, Bank Fraud team, and anyone else I can get on them.
Also I got to go get me a piece from AOL. Cant believe they abused my information like that. Imagine your kids clicking everything they see. You could go broke.
