At the beginning they made it sound really good, so i listened and i joined the UOP. They put me on some mystery classes, after a few days i decided that was a waste of money. So i called the financial counselor his is Chris and asked him how much does those two classes costs. I didn't remember very clear but it was very expensive, and he said i have to take 4 or 6 of those mystery classes that taugh me nothing. I decided to stop,
So i called Travis walls the counselor of Axia College. He told me i attended a week of class so i would have to pay 344.50 dollars for the cost of two classes. He said i didn't need to fill out anything; just stop logging into my account and paid the amount. I stopped going to my student website on that day and i was suppose to pay 344.50 dollars for that week of classes i attended. Mr. Walls also noticed me that i should be getting check from my loaner, but he told me not to deposit or cash them or else i will owe money to the loaner. After a month or so i receive a check from UOP it was around 1300 from my financial aid. I remember what Mr. Walls said and i didn't deposit or cash the check. I shredded the check.
Two weeks ago, i receive a mail from Mr. Christopher Arellano financial counselor. He claimed that i own the school 1,666.50. So i Call Mr. Arellano and talked to him about the situation, i asked him how come the amount is different than what they told me. He told me that is because i have the pell grant check and i need to returned that check to the school and the balance would be 344.50. I wasn't even thinking and i told him let me find the check and i will mail it back to him.
I was looking everywhere and couldn't find my check so i called Chris back about the situation. He told me that because i receive, so im responsible for the amount of the check. I told him i didn't spent it so im not paying it. He told me if i don't pay the amount in full he will put it on collection. I insist on paying the full amount, he told me to pay 344.50 first then he could work something for me for the remaining balance. I paid the 344.50, and i called him back. He is not answering my call.
Please if anyone have any info on a similar problem let me know. Im upset, this is a scam. How can a company write out a check and not know if that check is cashed or deposit? That's the question i asked, he didn't answer. It does not matter what they will do to me, i am not paying for the money that i didn't spent.
