Cheap Trick to Assign Work Without Actually Assigning It

Assigns a research paper 1 1/2 weeks before December vacation, and by the time that we have read through all of our sources, tells us that the draft is due the day we get back from break and that "It's not required to do over vacation, but you can make the decision to". That is a cheap way to assign a good amount of work over vacation without making it an official assignment.
