I have read some of the reports on the school written by the disenchanted and by the fooled. I also worked and started a graduate program at this "Institution". The underlying fact is that the school cares more about making money than offering a quality education. They give about 50% of the curriculum than a real school and charge 200% the price.
If you're wondering where the money is going, don't look into the betterment of the education, look to find it in the over $2 billion is liquid assets the company currently holds. I had the unfortunate opportunity to see first hand what their so-called degree consisted of. My Bachelor's degree was more difficult that the program they call Master's level.
What this means for students: you will not get the same opportunities or have the ability or knowledge that graduates from a real school will have. The business world is slowly becoming aware of lack of education and skills that UOP grads possess. The second tragedy that becomes reality is the overload of student loans students will acrue while attending.
The experience begins with a used-car sales feeling while your pressured into starting class sooner rather than later. The high pressure tactics include using emotional tie ins that make people feel that they will never do better if they don't start now. Using thes techniques, that are part of the training given by the school, are similar to the ones that mortgage sales forces used to sell bad loans to homeowners. The misuse of motivation and "dangling carrot effect" are the primary tools used in "dooping" potential students.
My best advice is to not take the easy road when it comes to your education. What is the most preached and least practiced statement when it comes to buying: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Education is not designed to be easy and if it is, the credibility is compromised. I sat next to students that could barely write college level papers and would be passed through with passing grades to keep enrollment numbers and profits up. Students would come into class high on drugs and drunk and would not participate in class and still would pass classes.
I have seen many satisfied and unsatisfied students come from thes so called programs and can say that the satisfied are usually the corner cutters that will always do as little as possible to get what they think will afford them their outcome. Don't be one of these people, hard work and dedication are qualities long forgotten in America and this kind of school further lowers the educational standard which is already falling below other competitive countries.
