December I received a subscription invoice for fifteen dollars, thanking me for ordering Ebony Magazine. They said I should be receiving my first issue shortly, and take a minute now to return the attached invoice with my payment.
I'm a white guy and had never applied for this. I figured someone screwed up and disregaurded the invoice.
January/14 I received my first issue ever of Ebony Magazine, along with a second notice invoice for fifteen dollars. This was dated 1/08/08.
I now know someone was scamming the whole thing. L.W. Johnson for Ebony Magazine was the name signed on the statement.
The tip off was #1 receiving a subscription I didnot order.
#2 Receiving an invoice I knew nothing about.
#3 No phone number or email address of the company on any papers they sent me.
You Know? I could send the same information to everyone in my local phonebook, and a good percent of them would probably pay this invoice, thinking they would have a problem fighting this bogas scam set up by this WELL ESTABLISHED PUBLICATION.
