I'm writing this to report regarding Anne Beckett, a woman that solicited people for money on the website Cafemom. I don't know if she has done this elsewhere and that is why I am dropping some awareness out there for people to research.
I understand that are people out there that need help, both financially and emotionally however I personally feel there is a right way and a wrong way of asking for help. Cafemom is a great place to receive emotional help however there are other resources out there that will legally benefit Ms. Beckett.
She claims to have an embroidery business and it must not be doing so well. OK, fine then why does she not sell that expensive equipment or her laptop computer or even drop some of her unnecessary expenses that she has to make up for the money that she needs such as an ISP or cell phone, etc. She could also set up a charity fund or even speak with a local church? (However she might not do that since she is a self proclaimed humanist/atheist)
I'm starting to wonder if she is even reporting the donations that she is receiving since I never received a receipt of charitable funds for the twenty bucks I gave her nor a simple thank you. I'm seriously considering reporting her to the IRS.
