I cancelled my service due to over billing. They did not credit my deposit, they kept it

I was very impressed with the Verizon cellular network, however I had a family share plan that was 80 dollars a month, never went over minutes, no outrageous texting, no excessive downloads, but I was consistently receiving bills that were over double what my plan was, between $160-$200 a month. Verizon could not explain the charges, and I eventually cancelled the service. Verizon did not apply my deposit to the account, they kept it while leaving me with a huge balance.
