Biggest scam ever! They tell you to deposit their check and wait until it clears then send the a moneygram for a certain amount thencancel the check!

I received a check in the amount of $2875 and was told to deposit it, after it cleared they said to send them a moneygram in the amount of $2250. After they received the moneygram my bank comes back and says that the check can not be verified and there will be a hold on the check. After some researching I find out that this is a scam and now i'm out $2250 plus $90 the amount of the moneygram.
