Moved to GA in 9/06 went to RAC in 12/06 got and paid off used couch and love seat no problem. Problem I have is with mattress and box spring I got from them at the same time.
First to my unease both pieces were "used" they did not have "new" ones available at the time and assured me that they would swap out with a new set when it became available. Never happened but I just lived with it.
Now months later my husband lost his job and it has been nothing but a struggle with these people regarding payments to them. We are constantly late because I only get paid every 2 weeks and they refuse to note account that I only get paid 2x per month and will not allow me to get on a payment schedule that goes past 10 days.
We have paid them approx. $900 dollars towards a used mattress that they now say is a new one - this store is like a revolving door with managers and personnel. I do not have the original contract due to stolen car (sigh).
As of this evening (wed) they want to come and get the pieces because they will not wait until tomorrow (Thurs) for payment and have told us that they will "refuse" the payment if we bring it in to them that they only want to come and get the mattress and box spring. But they will of course bring it right back once we pay them (make sense?)
My question is am I going to lose all the money I put into this thing - they say no but I don't believe them. Also I am not willing to continue to pay $120 per month for this thing until August of '08 which is now what they tell me is how long I have to go on until it is payed off. Past managers have said if we come in with $300 - $400 (depends on what new manager you get) dollars they will call it a day.
Last evening they were very aggressive and insulting to us - not easy losing a job especially when you moved across country - that's whey we had to rent from these people in the first place.
I just don't know what to do with these people don't want to lose upwards of $1,000 bucks but the abuse and harrasment just is not worth it.
