If you ever call any goverment agency, it is best to record the conversation, get a little recorder if in person, or use the phone or computer for proof.
I will not give my name but i am here to say they are for the most partgood but when a counselor who is not your counselor ut refuses to transfer you when you move,
Who is also disabled, gets her degree infour years and mine is still being worked on, says and i quot"why do you even want to finish, it seems that you are sick and cannot make class, why doit" in such a rude waya and then reminds you if she can, anybody can in fouryears.
I am also a counselor, with more hours than her, different disability and who cares, i glad shegotitin4 years, they are there tohelp us who need the extra help no matter whatit may be.
After writing the head guy in okcity, i was transfered but still notwillingto helpme finish up two classes to graduate, i changed schools, all online now, as it is 4am and i amwide awake but icannot guarantee that tomorrow i will be ok, my grades fell due to having to be in class at certain times, and the last semester, i dropped due to being sick.
I am moving totulsa county and will hopefully at least get totalk tomy first counselor.
I know they give several chances, dont they want success stories or stories like this, when marla left and the front lady left, thigs changed, noone read my file and tohave the nerve to discouage me., a disabled person from finishing, she is or was the over mayes county, watch out, she is fisty, i was told she was just trying to see what iwould dowith mydegree, not true, she was very condensending. Sometimes it take one who has been there to be the best but other times, have some humility and thank god for gettign you through,
My doc, wrote a note saying i would do better in online classes and that i need a laptop to rest my legs that go tosleep rrom sitting so long. They want a degree audit check from rsu, ido not go there, that is not their problem, theysay, inclaremore, tulsa, andmarla here i come, i started collegein 2000 but due to illness, divorce, a year to find myself again and changing my ming three times here iam, fighting with voc rehab, again i am disabledbut with fibro it is wierd, i cannot promise a 40 hour week and i cannotpromise to be feeling well every mwf at 10am,
I have sent several to the office for a second and third chance, after getting off drugs but having a mental disorder, maybe i need to discuss my medical depression that hits, and the reasoni want to finishis because istarted, andi want to helpothers and with no degree that is not happening, i did intern at the methadone clinic and have seen good and bad counselors, if i can change one person than i have helped, i had over 100 [patients who say me and only three died, one car wreck, one had hepatits c and one took methadone with xanax,
I do not stand for some y0ung girl at that to say what she said adget away with it, she is getting burnt or really does not care,
i also told her i am recovering alcoholic addict and to just finishmeans the worldtome, she still was so cold and say sowhat, it seems that you are to sick to work, who is she to say.,

Claremore disabled rsu students, do not use the girl inthe office if possible, maybe it was just us, but tosay to another personin her position, why do you want to finishk, you are always sick, you will never use it!!! Life changing, diabled at 30, could not sit, startedthinging about school, and have always wanted my degree. Thefirst two years
were great, my associates, got sick, rsu used it against me, refused to belivve my sickness, rsu is a four year school now but they still cater to freshmen and sophmores, i didnot have a good advisor and i missed out on abnormal pshcy. I went to the president, they had one class, full the first day., please kick out a freshman, i am a senior, i need this class and one more, i tgraduate, would not do it, at that [point i realixzd it was time for a break, found a great school, ashford out of iowa, voc rhebv said what to bring, it is readyl, going today to doc for a checkuop and to get one more note regarding thel laptop andmy feet and how i fall and twist my ankles both of them at least twice a week.;
Long story, any voc rehab, if you are disabled, do not give up, mos disabled who are young are ilke me, not wanting tosit at home, i want to volunteer at least, iwant to work but 40 hours is hasrd and i bust butt, forgetting to rest,
Last note, record all calls togoverment, on paper is good but recording is better and i was told in oklhahoma that you did not have t tell theother person, i am not sure., anybocyhave any ideas or other stories olike mine witk voc rehab or rsu. Rsu is a great school, they just cater to the freshmen and not the juniors and seniors, iam notthe only one moving on, they sent out survery after survery, we all said give us more to classesthan just one for thewhole year!!!
