I made a $20.00 cash advance at the atm machine. The atm charge was $2.00. I got an e-mail saying that a transaction had been made on my account. It informed me that a $10.00 cash advance fee had been added. I emailed them back and asked why was I being charged $10.00 cash advance fee for only a $20.00 withdrawal. It took them four different emails to even acknowledge that a $10.00 fee had been added. They said to contact the bank where the transaction took place to find out why the fee was charged.
That is terrible. The cash advance places only charge about $15.00 on a hundred dollar loan. Hsbc's fees should be regulated by the government.
