Please do not work for this company. Your pay is all based on how good you can sell people over the phone and talk them into enrolling into the online school. They hire anyone who is good on the phone, you need no education to talk people into enrolling and if you are good at getting enrollments and meeting your goals they set for you then you will make good money. However you are reviewed every 6 months and you can lose your salary if u didn't meet your goals.
They put uneducated and unqualified people who were good on the phone and have no management skills into management. Just because they were able to talk people into enrolling into the school and talked them into starting.
Most of the directors, admission managers do not have much more than a GED themselves. But they will lie to u and tell u anything u need to hear. They will even call the students on their cell phones to explain financial aid issues that is aginst the law for them to discuss but since the calls are monitored they use their cell phones. I have seen my director and associate director do this.
They will tell students when they are in default of a government student loan to go to a website called directloans.com and consolidate their loans so they will not longer be in default and many other things so they can make their enrollments and thus make their goal. They also have many people working in admissions who are supposedly admission advisors, who go for lunch and smoke a joint and drink alcohol and then come back to work the rest of the day high!
I have reported this but was told their is no policy in regards to this issue. They also have a lot of dating within the workplace ranging from upper management to the lowest. It is the most unprofessional place I have ever worked and I am glad I resigned!
If you are late 3 times, no matter if u are in the hospital or have a car accident and broke your leg or whatever. They write you up for being late and the next one you are fired. This place has no mercy for the employees. Especially the 2 I was under Mark Durgee (a big fat gay guy) and Mell the EDOA who is just a complete 2 faced jerk and has no business in his position!
For anyone looking to get a degree online, don't choose Kaplan University. A Bachelor degree is more than 55 thousand and rarely does any one graduate from this University and if you do your degree is worthless. You have a huge financial debt at the end and a worthless degree.
