NCO is a group of con artists led by a known racketeer named "Michael Barrist" who attempt to collect phony "debts". After making dozens of abusive automated telephone calls in the spring, they sent me a letter demanding payment for an alleged debt. I have no account with them. I sent a letter by certified mail demanding debt verification and ordered them to cease all communications and to cease all debt collection activities. NCO did NOT send me any debt verification for their nonexistent alleged "debt".
Now by an undated letter masquerading as a "Privacy Notice" received by me August 15 NCO is threatening to illegally access my consumer credit reports without my permission. NCO is also threatening to use the products of their identity theft activities to "share information... With companies that we use to perform account-servicing functions".
In direct violation of my certified mail directive to cease debt collection activities, the letter states "This is an attempt to collect a debt by a debt collector".
The undated letter carries with it the notations "GLB-3 (REV 6/07) CRDT" and "OTO-701-A-0". NCO is also threatening to send me multiple copies of this "debt collection" letter. I understand that NCO has been the previous target of FTC enforcement action and had to pay a large sum as a result. I want these racketeers shut down for good.
