Complaint / Review
NCO Portfolio Management
Ripoff, Possible New Company Name

We recently received a "dunning" notice from a company called ProLine Solutions Group LLC (address: 908 Niagara Falls Blvd North Tonawanda, NY). I have never heard of this group. With a basic internet search, I cannot find any information about this group except for their name and address.in their letter, they say they are "engaged" with a company called "Portfolio Management, LLC" and are attempting to collect money they claim is owed to them.

I suspect this may in fact be NCO Portfolio Management/NCO Financial Systems under a new alias, but I appreciate other people's insight into this mystery.

The names "ProLine Solutions Group" and "Portfolio Management" are generic enough to make it extremely difficult to find information on the Internet in a timely manner.

The letter sent to us states that we owe $2800,00 to Portfolio Management, and they are trying to collect this debt. Other than a file number, there is no information about what this debt is for, who the original creditor was, or any contact information about "Portfolio Management". No one in my family ever received a service from a group called Portfolio Management, so I am left to assume this must be another collection agency.in addition, we have never received a bill for this specified amount for any service we received in the past.

What is most humorous about this letter is that it states if we choose to dispute this debt, we need to send them documentation verifying this debt and/or copies of documentation proving this debt was paid. I never heard of a collection agency asking a debtor prove a debt exists. Never-the-less, I have no intention of paying thousands of dollars to a company I know nothing about simply because they claim money is owed them (with no explanation about the debt).

In the previous months my family has received a couple of letters from NCO Financial Systems and NCO Portfolio Management requesting payments for debts they have been unable to substantiate. As always, we have sent them dispute letters and cease & desist letters. They finally informed us they closed their file for the first debt. We are waiting for them to do the same with the second. Now, all of a sudden we get this letter for a mysterious third debt. I therefore have reason to suspect ProLine Solutions Group is somehow connected to NCO, if not NCO under a new name.

Any ideas?
