Increased estimate upon arrival, breach of own contract for delivery Ripoff

After paying my deposit, I requested a move date of 4/29/07 and the mover did not arrive, I had to contact the company.

I was packed with most of my things in boxes except for a few things which the movers packed into their boxes and shrink wrapped the furniture with pads. When I was ready to pay the cost of the percentage from the estimate, I was informed it would be at least $500 more. The mover also told me his "estimate" would be less than if we had it weighed. I agreed to his price not having any experience with movers before this.

They granted 30 days "free" storage. At the 30th day, I contacted the mover to let him know I wanted delivery. He stated he could have it there within a couple days but he also had 14 days per the contract. I waited 14 days and did not hear from him further so I called him again. He said it was 14 business days. I called at 14 business days. During this whole time, I had to contact these people every time and they would not return my calls, I would have to call back. He said he couldn't get a truck and it would be the next week. The next week I had to call again and was told again it would be next week. I filed a report with the BBB and when I called the company, yet again, the manager yelled at me and told me it was not his company's responsibility but the transportation company's. I informed him his company was the only "company" I had dealt with and he is, in fact responsible.

When I talked to the mover, I told him at that point was considering my delivery stolen since no one could tell me where it was or when I would get it. He informed me if I kept saying it was stolen, he would take it back where he got it and send my money back to me. I asked him how he planned on doing that since I had moved across the country. He said the truck would be leaving that Wed. I called again on Friday, the truck would be leaving Monday. It was then 20 business days since I had made the delivery request.

The truck driver called me and said he would be in the area on that Tuesday and would call when he was close. He called back Tuesday and told me that he had a flat tire and it would be later in the day. He called back later and told me it would be the following day. I finally got my delivery Wed. And my TV was busted in the process.

I would never use this company and I would definitely not deal with these people again. This was a horrible and costly lesson that I will not forget. I am planning on bringing legal action.
