They lied about the charges being deducted on a certain date from my bank account. Ripoff

After denying Credit Line Gold Card services for about the fourth time (or more) on my work phone number, I told the rep that was contacting me not to call me at work because I am not allowed to receive personal phone calls. She then proceeded to call me on my cell phone and at work! I would hang up and tell her I was not interested.

I finally decided to listen to what she had to say. She said I would receive a credit card with low interest rate that would never go up. She said that all I had to pay was $11.95 to process the credit card and that I would get $2500 credit. I asked her if this was a credit card I could use in all the stores that accepted credit cards and she said yes. That I could even go buy groceries with it. I agreed to get the card and gave her my bank account information. She then transferred me to a guy that read the terms and conditions and I had to answer yes on a recording.

After listening to the terms and conditions I noticed that they mentioned something about a $200 deposit that I needed to make as well. I stopped them right away and told them "I did not agree to $200! The lady only told me about the $11.95 charge!" and I hung up.

They called me back to my cell and work number like 10 more times and they asked me to listen to them once more. They said they would take out the deposit of $200 from the credit card they were giving me and that I would only pay the $11.95 out of my bank account. They said "In the recording of the terms and conditions, don't get confused. When you hear 'account'.. It means the Credit Line Gold Card account, not your bank account." They asked me to agree to everything and that only $11.95 would be taken out of my bank account. I did just as they told me.

Today, June 15, I was supposed to have the $11.95 debited from my account. I felt like something was not going to go right. I called to their customer service number and asked them to cancel everything. The man there said it was too late and that $211.95 would be debited from my account.

I was mortified! I didn't have the funds in the bank and my account would go bad. Plus, I was shocked that the reps had lied to me like that! I told the customer service rep. That I was going to call the police because I had not agreed to having that much debited from my account. The rep asked me to hold and it seemed like he went to go talk to his manager.

After a few second he came back on the line and told me that he had managed to stop the charges from hitting my bank account. You could tell they were scammers. Although that happened, I said "thank you" and hung up.
