BEWARE of going to see Dr Rim Marcinkus / Koleta Goucher, Office Manager behind the entire SCAM, for any types of surgery or proceedures. He is a FRAUD advertising he is Board Certified when he is NOT! He has been in so many Lawsuits that even his own attorney released him from his services.
I called in on a coupon in early January inquiring on botox and skin care. I asked if he was board certified and if he had hospital proveledges. Koleta Goucher assured me he did and was.
On my initial consulation, I asked about Botox and Upper and Lower Eyelid Surgery. Dr Rim Marcinkus tried to SELL me 15,000 worth of additional proceedures he suggested I have done before and along with, upper and lower eyelid surgery! Botox, Microdermabrasion, Thermage, Restilyn and several Facials costing over 3000.00!!
Have you ever had a 500.00 Facial??? WOW! Didn't realize just how bad I looked! At this point I decided "No way, I will just grow old gracfully."
Before I left, I met with Koleta Goucher and told her my concerns. She said that I didn't need to have all of those proceedures and that I could start with just upper and lower eye lid surgery costing $5000.00 and that this was the discounted price and that the coupon was a MISPRINT!
Dr Rim Marcinkus had a list or proceedures for me to sign for using discounts, that was ONLY GOOD FOR TODAY! Today! On my initial consulation!
I told Koleta that I cant make any decisions today and that I had to discuss with my husband. Then decide if I wanted to pay cash or finance. Thats when she mentioned their 0% for 12 months FINANCING. I have excellent credit with money in the bank but was willing to take advantahe of the offer. Koleta said that all I need to do was call the company, get approved then call her with my approval amount. I left with the brochure.
She called me everyday until I called in for the approval to which I was approved, OF COURSE, for $5500.00. Now, all I needed was 5000.00! I asked CARE CREDIT about the 0% and they told me I had to call the participating Provider to get the particulars.
I called Koleta and gave her my approval AMOUNT! Nothing else was discusses except making the next appointment 2 weeks later to discuss the next steps. At this point, I assumed I would get my Credit Card in the mail to use as I wish. I was not told she was running the funds, nor did she tell me about any fees or rates!
What I didn't know was that day, Jan. 22, Koleta FUNDED herself the entire $5500.00 at 11.9 for 60 months without my approval.
2 weeks later, I go into my appointment to discuss what happens next. She slides over a receipt with $5500.00 in front of me stating here is the amount you were approved for sign here. I signed it and then asked about the extra $500.00. I assumed since I had extra money, I would go ahead and take advantage of one of their facials!!!
Then she says" Oh no, this is a FINANCE charge that the doctor charges for financing." I said no way! Why would I PAY a 500.00 finance fee with a 791 beacon score if I am going 0% for 12 months?
She said, NO, you went 11.9 for 60 months! I said" Absoultly NOT. YOU cancel that now. I would pay cash before I ever pay those fees or charges. Who aurthorized that? She said thats how they DO ALL OF THEM!!!
She became VERY upset and said that she would have to reverse the charges! THIS IS WHEN I FOUND out she funded herself on Jan 22 for the full amount!!! She told me she would reverse the charges but NEVER DID and now holds that receipt over my head!
I called the Credit Cared company-CARED CREDIT - and they said that they COMMITTED FRAUD by charging the 500.00 additional fee and to have the charges reversed.
NOW, they reversed all the charges except 1000.00 stating I CANCELED the surgery so they are keeping a non refundable deposit for Canceling! (This clause sits at the bottom of your initial form with all your discounts stating IF YOU CANCEL) it was a consultation!!! I would have never even called the doctor for an appointment if she owuld have told me he was not board certified!
So, they lie to you to steal your money!
I CANCELED due to FRAUD and I canceled AS SOON AS I realized what they did and that fact they he IS NOT BOARD CERTIFIED!
I went back to see if the Doctor himself to see if he would make this right and in doing so, he ADMITTED that HE was NOT board Certified, was not going to be board certified and that it was just a country club for doctors!
I told him I would have NEVER walked into his office if his manager would have told me HE WAS NOT board Certified! He said I could have the 1000.00 credit on any other proceedures in his facility but he would not give me the 1000.00 back!
Like I would EVER let them touch me.
Today is 04-06 and I am still fighting not only the Doctors Office but the Credit Card Company as well. Check them out on this web site! Over 455 Credit card Customers in the same situation as I am with several other doctors!
This is a scam between the doctors and the CC Company, nationwide! I see a Class Action Lawsuit hitting soon. 20/20 will have a filed day with this!
I have sense hired an attorney and contacted Channel 3 news who will be doing an exclusive on this doctor.
I suggest you do the same.
