Ripoff, Long Distance Phone Charges

I received a card after ordering some computer parts from Tiger Direct in Feb. I received the AMR LD Phone card. Being I make less than $10.00 per year, I called the number and canceled this.in Mar I was billed $61.02, I called 800-548-0044, the woman I spoke to said that my acct was canceled in Feb and that I would receive a credit. Well I never received a credit. Today 20Jul02, I logged on my bank, found just yesterday another $61.02 charge. Scrolled down and found 5 additional charges of$61.02 for a total of $366.12 of unauthorized charges. I then called AMR LD @ 888-295-7130 and spoke to Tina after about 1/2 hour of being on hold. Tina answered, told her I canceled this in Feb02 and I wanted a full refund. She went away to do some research, after about 10 mins she picked up my call and said that she would refund my account in full. I guessed for the entire amount since she said in full. Received email confirmation in seconds that I would receive a $61.02 i 3 to 5 business days. I called her back, explained that I wanted all $366.10 refunded. We went over the bills. The original $61.02 was not on her list of charges, but Apr-Jul was and I would get a refund of $305.10 that would be refinded to my account in 3 to 5 business days. I will update this when this happens tolet all of you know if this happens. Tina said that the original charge in Mar is not on her list, and to contact that company. I said thank you. Tina was very nice on the phone, very pleasant to talk to. I called the 800-548-0044 that was on my Mar statement. This number has been disconnected with no other available information. I guess I have been ripped of of the original charge. As for Tiger Direct, I will continue to do business with them as I have just recently, just watch that Box for the LD Card!!! I have read through many of the complaints, and my hat is off to the folks here at complaints for doing what they have done with this company!!! Watch for update when I receive my refund of $305.10 in the following 3 to 5 business days. JimCoxsackie, New York
