Fraud Alert Fidelity Reader Services Fraud Alert! Ripoff

In November of I was approached by a young man outside of my apartment. First off I told him I wasn't interested in what he was selling. Then he was help me out i am trying to win this contest to pay for college, so i told him to do what i did go to the military or get a school loan.

He then asked if he could come in and explain what he was offering, I told hime no because he keep trying to see what i had in my apartment. I told him he could stand outside and tell me what he was offering.

So later in the conversation, he explained to me that if I subscribed to a magazine, it would not be charged to my account if I filled out the cancellation forms within three days. He then told me that i would recieve my magazine within a week time. He kept asking me private question like what bank did I bank with, and if I had any cash to pay for the magazine. So I told him that I didin't have any cash. Then he was almost begging me to order a magazine so that he could win whatever prize or money was being offered.

After I listen to wht he had to say I told him no thank you. So the he showed me a list of magazine he was offering and then told me we had car magazines. So i ask him the pices and he said 24 dollars I said for a year and he said yes. So i said ok and proceded to write a check. While writing a check he said it will be 57 for a 2 year subscription but i told him i didn't ask for two years, so he told me thats how the company sells it. So I clearly said if I don't recieve my magazines by next week i was gonna put a stop payment on my check and he said that I will recieve it but if i don't just call. After I subscribed the next day, I immediately took my filled out cancellation forms to the mail so that they would be processed as soon as possible.

I tryed to contact the company to tell them I wanted to cancle but could not speek to anyone just a recording. So I said it has to be fraud so i went to my bank and put a stop payment on this check and my bank charge me 30 dollars to stop a 57 dollor check. So on December 4th i recieved a letter from CPR Financial Services saying i have to pay or my account will be sent to collections.

Not only am I disturbed that I was lied to and taken advantage of, but also that I have been charged unnecessary fees because of those lies. I am NOT in a financial position to experience such charges and am extremely upset that I have been used in this way. I would not only like recompensation for the costs of the magazines, but also recompensated for the bank fees which incurred because of this incident.

I will be filing a report on usacomplaints.com, calling Florida's Attorney General's Office (Consumer Fraud Division to file a complaint) and the National Field Selling Association to inform them of the awful service and treatment that I have received from this company.
