In July I received notice from the IRS of back taxes due and subsequent action to be taken. I contacted the Law Offices of Roni Lynn Deutch, spoke with their representative and then followed-up that conversation with several people from their accounting department, resulting in a $1800 payment for their services.
Since that time, I have received, on a monthly basis, continuous requests for the same information. Until this last request, I have submitted that information, sometimes paying up to $16 to send it overnight letter, money I do not have.
I have called and spoke only with a "representative", not an actual attorney, explaining my situation and that no information has changed - as I cannot find a job, find temp work, when available, but have not been hired, after many, many interviews. I even went out of state to interview for jobs in Oregon, but, again, have not been hired. I have no money. I am losing my house - got the notice of default and intent to foreclose yesterday by mail. My other creditors are calling me non-stop for payment collection - I am losing my mind; I hardly sleep and have lost 36 pounds since Jan. 1. My faith has been tested and my relationship with my boyfriend has become strained and argumentative - because I cannot breathe half the time - and the other half I'm crying.
I just got off the phone with their "representative" again. He explained to me that no attorney has the power to stop any collection activity from the IRS. So, why the $%#@ do they advertise that they will? Suck you into paying their fees and then the same thing ends up happening that would have happened had you not retained them as your council? I cannot get a straight answer - I'm not even allowed to file bankruptcy??? Why is our government not protecting me from not only them (IRS), but from these attorney firms that advertise and convince an individual that they can stop liens, bank levys and collection activity???
My life is a total disaster and I will be paying for this for years. Had I known of this website prior to retaining that firm, I would have made my own arrangement with the IRS, they've done nothing to improve my situation and I am appalled that they advertise to the contrary - in my opinion, it falls under false advertisement and somebody needs to stop them!
I, too, have been noticed in letters that I receive from RL Deutch's office, that if I do not comply and submit the requested information, they will have no choice but to resign from my case. You tell me where they've spent the $1800 I paid, up front. I have received absolutely no resolution nor satisfaction from this company, only rhetorical requests for the same data. I am not happy and am seeking other advice on where to go from here.
Very unhappy and disgruntled that their are entities that can operate within the United States of America that ripoff consumers. Consumers who need help and advice and put their faith and dependence on an ATTORNEY, who cannot help.
