In April I paid $1800 to Roni Deutch Law firm to help me with back taxes owed to the IRS. The contact person I spoke with varied, but I was constantly told, "Oh, you qualify for our program, oh, you definitely qualify!" I paid for copies of personal documents at Kinko's and Fed-Ex'd at least 3 separate packages over a period of nearly 8 months. I even signed a Power of Attorney form they mailed me.
Finally, I received a letter from Roni Deutch office that I had to dip into my retirement fund to pay my IRS taxes. That is what got me into trouble before because I am under 59. I explained repeatedly to both Roni Deutch and IRS (in writing) that I would only incur another big IRS tax bill. To the best of my knowlege and recollection, Roni Deutch law office never communicated to me that my tax bill had been lowered. That was the whole point of signing up with them to help me. The State of California should at least investigate their business practices.
