John Alexander's 14 Days To Real Estate Riches - Mentoring Of America
Ripoff fraudulent marketing practices lies about no financial risk on my part

Here is a situation that I had with a real-estate training company called 14-DAYS TO REAL ESTATE RICHES, phone #800-720-1324, Sold off infomercial for $39.00 by John Alexander, who is based out of San Antonio, Texas, and associated with a Texas company called Gray-Stone Mortgage, with his coaching outsourced from a Utah company called "Mentoring Of America" for $12,500.00. When I purchased the program back in February from the infomercial for $39.00, it consisted of 7 cd-roms that have real estate purchase contracts, and what I perceive as watered down training manuals, plus a 20 minute quick-start over-view dvd snapshot of an actual John Alexander seminar (he teaches a method called the INVERSE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE).

Upon watching the dvd, I felt like I was supposed to be up to speed in using the real-estate training, because on the dvd, he was talking from the perspective that sounded like he was assuming we already have business cards, and other various tools already in place to use, and my reaction was a dark feeling about being confused, behind, and lost with know support on what to do next.

Than I found a 800# on the back of the cd-roms that offered a coaching program, it did make mention about being coachable, teachable, open-minded, and there was an investment for the coaching, although, it didn't make mention of the cost of training, I called the number on the back of package, which was 800-477-1018, and I talked to a guy named TOBY WAGNER, who described the training in some what detail, and proceeded to ask me how my credit was, and what my credit limits were on my credit cards.

Next I explained to him that it was good, along with credit limits, and he told me to put the training on one of the credit cards, than he explained what the training would cost ($12,500.00), and that I would get 10 phone coaching sessions, Those sessions were a joke, Mitch Price, my coach, only spent about a half hour on those phone sessions, held on Monday's at 11:30am, and he just rattled off basics like calculating price per square foot, getting to know title companies, and mortgage lenders, but did not go in depth about how to properly structure a deal to the perspective of a beginner, I thought anyway.

Back to Toby Wagner, I told him I will be turning age 40, on Feb. 15th, and I want to embark on a new prosperous financial future as my ultimate birthday present going forward, so I gave him the go-ahead to charge my card, that was on Feb. 7th, they told me the charge would actually take 3-days to process (i did not know about the 3-day right to cancel policy at the time of purchase, i just found this out recently, i was told by mentoring of america that it takes up to 3 days to process orders, because they have so many other orders to process, not because of an existing 3-day right to cancel policy, they never made me aware of such a policy.).

a day later, feb. 8th, I called Mentoring Of America back to get out of deal, and cancel purchase while it was still in the 3-day process window, TOBY WAGNER told me that if I fail to make money with there training system, within 3 months after joining there training, I would get my $12,500.00 back, and I would be permanently removed from there program, and I had nothing to risk financially if I failed, only getting kicked out of there training was the only risk he warned me of if I decided to get a refund, of course, he made this up, as you will see below.

I was also told during my registration process in February, that if I back out of transaction, it would be fraudulent on my part, and with legal fees, and fines that would result because of it, my cancelling of charge would wind up costing me more than twice that of the training cost, plus I would have a criminal record as a result. Months later, I found out that they were using "scare tactics" on me to scare me into NOT CANCELING the card charge of $12,500.00, and by law, I guess we have the right to be able to cancel a transaction charge in a 3-day time window, especially a service like this where we don't have it in our immediate possession at time of charge.

I did not know anything about these options at the time of purchase, I figured that I'm locked in the deal, and with know way of getting out if I changed my mind. NOW BACK TO TOBY WAGNERS MONEY BACK LIE, When I called back to Mentoring Of America in June, a little more than 3 months later at the following number, 800-477-1018 and talked to a receptionist named Ashley, and I told her that I was not getting the results, using there training, and coaching, and asked for my money back, she said that there is know money back gaurantee, and even if there was, I would at the most get maybe $1,000.00 back, when I told her what Toby Wagner told me, she said that she was not aware of such a guarantee, and that it did not exist.

So Toby must have made that up to close me into the program, of course it is his word against mine, as I did not record the conversation, I wish that I would have for evidence, I know it is probably impossible to get any of a refund out of them, I just hope that Toby Wagner some how gets this all back in his face for his blatant lies, and I am sure he is pushed on using these marketing tactic's from his supervisors, the only way I could see this back lashing on them is if someone would go through the ordering process as I have, and anonymously record the conversations through out the transaction process, and than confront Toby with the actual recorded conversation, only if it is legal to do so however.

All I know, is if there was a way that I could recover anything hear, let me know, because it is allot of money, to a low wage earner like me, and yes, I am strapped because of it, maybe if I just keep trying to apply that 14-DAYS real estate training, I may get profitable results? Or arrested? The way many home sellers I approached with this way of doing a deal, they thought I was playing a real estate agent without a license, and did not want any part of this for selling there home.

Also, M.O.A. Did not give me any references on anyone using the program, I was all alone to approach home sellers with this new technique that more or less, scared them away from wanting to sell there house that way.
