I responded to a local classified ad in Maine. I wrote a man about a english bulldog puppy.
He told me she was 600.00 usd shipping included. A few emails later, I find out he is in Camroon. South africa.
I thought it was a scam. But he insisted to send me all these documents. His exporters licence, the vet cert., the cites permit, and so on.
We ended up western unioning him 250 for shipping cost.
She was to be shipped that night. He called me to confrim.
The next night we had not heard anything. He wrote me a email saying that there was a black out and he could not reach me.
He proceded to tell me that the vets office in the airport had to run test on her before they shipped her.
The douuala international airport wrote to me telling me about how wonderful there vet space was.
I never gave them my email.
He went on to say the vet bill of 400.00 usd had to be paid before the would release her.
I told him NO! I said he is the breeder and he should have know this. He would have to pay the vet cost.
I would send him the rest of the money after I got the puppy here.
He said he didnt have it. He would pay half of the bill.
We wrote him and said that we would pay our half to the airport directly.
He sent me a invoice for the airport"kenya airways"
But some thing was not right about it. It had our currency on it!
When I wrote him a told him I thought this was a scam, he got very mad. He told me to stay away from him and get my dog from the airport, and when I do send him the money for the dog. That is the last e-mail I got from him.
I have contacted the kenya airways, with little help offered.
I have tried to contact the douala international airport in cameroon. All I get is the switch board.
This guy was back on that classified site with in a few days.
The website has deleted all of his ads. You can also find his ad on wellbredpets under bulldog breeders. On that site it states he lives in south corolina USA. I confronted him with this info. He said something about going back to his family. I have every email and document he sent me. I don't want the nightmare to happen to anyone else. Thank you.
