I contacted Support Kids last year to get assistance in collecting child support. I was assured that they were better able to help me because they only dealt with support issues, unlike the state agency. They seem to only take cases where there is a large arrearage owed, otherwise, it is not worth their efforts to help.
Each time I spoke with someone there, I received different stories. I was told that they could NOT garnish wages since they are a 3rd party. I was told they WERE garnishing the non custodial's wages when in fact, the state was garnishing his wages. I was told that IF the state was garnishing wages, they could not. Yet, upon speaking with another employee at Support Kids, she told me that they were the ones garnish wages, which was not true at all. At one point, I was told by one of their employees that all they could do was continuously call the non custodial and see if he would voluntarily send some money to them!
I was told that I was using their automated information line too much (I'm paying for the call!). I was accused of receiving money from the non custodial parent and keeping it.
They have SO many stories, so many lies.
People need to get together and put this company out of business. All they are interested in is getting their greedy hands on money that rightfully belongs to the children. I am contacting our Attorney General and seeing if I can file a complaint with him to get this company banned from Missouri.
