On March 2nd, my office received a call from a man stating he was from Texas looking for a contractor in Chicago to pick up some work as he had overbooked himself. My secretary had asked for his cell phone or a contact number, and he stated that he had unfortunately left a couple of his cell phones at one of the many sites he visited. Unfortunately, he was given my cell phone number and called to give me his sales pitch.
I was interested in what he had to offer: just one low price of $700 to help my company become more profitable by sending in a consultant to look over how my business operated. We set up an appointment, however I could not make it and had to re-schedule.
My secretary became suspicious when we received three calls from three different men in less than a half hour. Each time someone called, they were told that I was not in the office. My secretary found it odd that no one had communicated the information to the first two callers and she also noted that the people were obviously dialing from a call center.
What really tipped me off was when the sales rep power dialed my cell phone; definitely telephone harrassing me.
After finally pinning me down to meet in my office, I had my secretary look further into the company, upon which we found valuable information not only from this site, but also the Better Business Bureau.
This company has got a bad reputation which, unfortunately for them, is documented by the Better Business Bureau. We are fortunate to have escaped any financial ripoff and will most definitely send warning e mails to all of our contacts.
