Our business received a call from American Business Search saying an employee here had authorized services from this company and we had an outstanding balance of $379. I didn't believe the caller, who identified himself as Dan Willis.in fact I said, this sounds like a scam and now wish I had hung up. He said the person's name, naming an individual who does work here and that he could send paperwork to verify the expense. I still said no, don't send me anything. He had another person on the phone, Bill Morgan, who said they'd send me the invoice and explanation of the back due balance. I agreed to receive the invoice so I could research it. Mistake! The invoice came for $379 for "advertising" I authorized. I called and spoke to Patricia Hill, who claimed to be the credit manager. I told her I didn't authorize an invoice. She played my tape. I said, what you don't have on tape is me saying I believed this to be a scam from the start and that I was only agreeing to receive information to research my back due balance. She wouldn't send me to Bill or Dan to talk to them. She wouldn't let me speak to anyone else, saying she was the boss. However, she was also "new" and didn't know Bill Morgan or Dan Willis. I called back immediately and spoke with Peter Lavaro. He assured me he would not send me another bill and would cancel the current amount due to rectify the account. He also said he would send me a fax and a letter to detail our conversation. I haven't received a fax and am waiting for his letter. This company is trying to scam small businesses out of money. Beware.
