For the past 2 years, my Verizon Yellow Page ads were not changed as I had asked. I paid the first year thinking that anyone can make a mistake. When this happened a second year after being careful to order the new ad changes, I refused to pay the charges.
Repeated contacts with Verizon were fruitless and frustrating. They advised that their policy was not to refund or forgive the disputed charges; they would only offer to increase to size of next yeear's ad at no extra charge.
I have complained to the Better Business Bureau (2) and have yet to hear a response. A reply from the Virginia Commonwealth's Attorney General's office advised they had no jurisdiction.
A legal resource advised, and I sent, a letter offering to forget the money already paid for the incorrect ads if they would cancel the remaining billings on the contract for the incorrect ads; they have refused.
