Complaint / Review
Berman Investment Group
Ripoff, dishonest, deceptive advertising, deceptive return policy, the rich scamming the poor, forcing you to buy items not ordered!

Berman Investment Group I ordered the so called FREE PACKAGE for $4.95 which included a book, and 2 CD'S.included in the package was 4 individually wrapped CD's which I did not order.

The materials sent along with the package stated that you could try out the materials for 30 days, or you could return them and owe nothing. I listened to the 2 audio CD's, and opened the 4 other CD's to check them out.

I decided that I did not want the package and called for a return authorization number. The person on the phone asked if I had opened the 4 CD's. I told him That was the only way I could see what was on them.

He then said that I could not return them if they had been opened. I told him that I did not order them, and I did not know that if they were opened they could not be returned. He then said "you should have read the return policy".

I told him That I did not see anything on the website about returning anything, and if I was getting the package for free, why would I look for a return policy.

He said he would have to talk with his supervisor because I had opened the 4 CD's. I told him that he could talk to whomever he wanted, but I was not going to let them charge my card $99.90. I told him I would contact my State Attorney General if they tried to charge my credit card.

He put me on hold for about 5 minutes, (I guess he thought I would hang up) He then came back with an offer of paying $14.90 to wipe the account clean. I reluctantly accepted because I knew I would have to pay something to send them back, not to mention standing in line at the Post Office.

When I got off the phone, I went to the consumer complaints website and did a search on the Berman Investment Group. I was overwhelmed by the number of complaints listed. I will check out any company from now on before sending my hard earned money. I learned a very valuable lesson here, (If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is).
