My daughter is a college freshman. She did not notice there were two transactions ($49.95 each) in her checking account at the University Credit Union until Credit Union sent her a letter recently indicating an overdraft in her account. We called Credit Union and found out that these two transactions were from Teliflex at 866-821-8674. After several phone calls to Teliflex, we were told only one charge can be refunded because the other one was over 30 days.
My daughter has no reason to sign up for this unlimited phone card service because she has a cell phone already. She told me that the reason she signed up for this free trial is because the "credit union" people kept on calling her.in order to avoid such annoying phone calls, she finally signed up for the trial with the intention of canceling it once she received the package. She never used this phone card service at all and
she did cancel the trial on 5/1 by calling 866-821-8674. We have the proof from the call details record of her Verizon wireless cell phone account on the web. But, Teliflex still insists on not refunding the first month service fee.
Also, I think Teliflex takes the "innocence" of students. My daughter thought the promotion phone calls were from Credit Union because they seem to have her checking account number already.
I have already reported this to FTC consumer complaint: https://rn. Ftc. Gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$. Startup? Z_ORG_CODE=PU01. I found this by entering "consumer complaint" on google. You may want to do the same so that we can stop this company from ripping people off any further.
