I receieved a call on my cell phone over a month ago (in march) offering me a free florida vacation. I was not interested because it sounded like a scam. They also said that I would get a free trial membership for Teliflex unlimited long distance. I still said i was not interested. The company had already knew my checking account information. I continued to them that I was not interested and they said they were sending me a packet in the mail and I could call a number if I was still not interested. I asked for a number anyway and called it and the customer representative refused to cancel the package they were sending me in the mail.
About a week later, I received a letter from Teliflex and called the customer care center number. I cancelled any sort of membership they had me in to make sure I would not be charged for anything. I thought everything would be fine. Now, over a month later, I look on my bank statement and see that on 4-4-05 I was charged $149.00 and then on 4-18-05 charged $49.95.
I called the numbers that were listed on my statement for where the money was taken and could not get through to any customer service representatives. The only contact information I got was their website. I went to the website and it was under construction, which I know is a lie! I am outraged that I was taken advantage of! I am just a college student and $198.95 is a lot of money to me! I am not giving up til I get every cent of my money back! This is illegal and they will pay! It just upsets me even more that I found this website and saw that it had happened to someone else! I want to make sure that it doesn't happen again!
