Jefferson Capital Systems and Fingerhut Credit Advantage, according to the Fingerhut representative, stated these are now two separate companies. I've attempted to contact Jefferson Capital Systems and I've yet to receive a response (odd how both companies are in the same cities, isn't it?)
I them logged on to the Federat Trade Commission website: ftc. Gov and filed a formal fraud complaint with the federal government.
Jefferson Capital and/or Fingerhut Credit Advantage state that I owe a balance of nearly $1,000.00! *This is NOT my account*
In addition to filing a formal compaint with the FTC, I followed through and filed complaints with the three major credit reporting bureaus: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax.
I don't know what's going on with these companies... Or it may be a case of identify theft, but I WILL get this resolved one way or the other. It's just too bad that Jefferson Capital Systems AND Fingerhut are not willing to assist consumers in matters of this type... Especially since there seem to be so many.
Sounds like a Class Action to me.
