How to get a refund from CompuPlus I actually did it Ripoff

I too fell for the CompuPlus scam. I let them deduct $354.90 out of my account for the credit card they promised me. I did call them shortly after they deducted the money and told them that I had changed my mind and would like a refund. They did tell me that I had to wait for the package to arrive within 21 days before I could get a refund.

The package did arrive. I called the customer service number once I received the package and they told me to mail it back to them, then call them with a tracking number and they would issue my refund. I did so and they told me to expect my refund in 30 business days.

Well, 30 days came and went and no refund. I called them to inquire as to why I had not received my money and they said that they would have to file an investigation and that I should call back within 10 business days. I told them that was unacceptable and that I wanted to speak with someone in charge. I got nowhere with them so I started looking on the internet to see if I could find anymore information about CompuPlus.

The first thing I found were the rip off reports. I was discouraged but kept looking for more info. I noticed that on the mailing receipt (from when I mailed the package back to them) had a different address than the one the customer service center gave me. I had already entered the address from customer service into the MSN.com reverse address lookup and found nothing. So, I entered 4821 26th Ave S Saint Petersburg, FL 33711 into the reverse lookup and it gave me a name: Charles Maynard with a phone number of 727-327-9654. I called the number and a woman answered. I told her I wanted to speak to Charles and she said that he was not in. I proceeded to ask her if I was calling CompuPlus and that I wanted my refund from them and she got very vague. She just kept saying that she would have to have Charles call me. I left my name and number and not 20 minutes later, I received a call from someone named Brian with Global Processing. He said that the number I had called was the company they use for shipping and that he was someone that could actually handle my refund. His number is 813-962-7700 ext. 2228. He was very helpful and actually issued me a refund while I was on the phone. He gave me a tracking number and by god, the next morning the money was in my account. I didn't get angry with him and go on about how I knew it was a scam, I just let him help me and it worked.

Try it and hopefully you'll have the same success that I did. Do remember that they will still have your bank account information so you want to keep an eye out to make sure that they never debit any money out of your account again. If they do, you can report it to your bank and they can reverse the charge as long as you contact them quickly. I make it a point to check my account online everyday just in case.
