Between 2013 and 2022, Sherry Xue Li and Lianbo Wang orchestrated a massive international fraud, luring over 150 victims—mostly foreign nationals from China—into investing in a fake real estate and education project known as the Thompson Education Center (TEC) in Sullivan County, New York.

Victims were promised:
• Green cards through the U.S. EB-5 investor visa program
• IPO profits from a fake upcoming stock launch
• VIP access to U.S. political events in exchange for large donations
Instead, over $30 million was siphoned into luxury personal expenses, political photo-ops, and shell accounts.
