Steven, Amy, and Frederick Ripoff Young People With Stupid Recruiting Tactics. Don't Be Like Me!

Pardon any typos in the following: A Friend of my mine who works at a fast food restaurant were approached by two representatives of Primerica, a male and a female named Amy and Frederick, both of whom were in their early to mid twenties explaining how they would like to open an office in our city and saying they need workers to help them make that happen and could get paid better than what he's doing now.

Working at a fast food restaurant, who would refuse an offer to get better money. Any way he was giving their cell phone numbers so they could talk further into this. After attending a seminar of theirs, he gave their cell phone numbers to another friend of ours who then gave their numbers to me (note that not once did anyone receive an office number of any kind).

I was asked to attend a seminar by Amy, I accepted and they came to pick me up personally and take me to the seminar (so far so good). When i get there are given some kind of motivational speech by a guy named steven who is supposed to be the regional manager or something of that sort of pull. He constantly keeps telling us that he is not up here to "encourage us to join primerica" but just simply stating how he came from nothing to having thousands of dollars working with primerica (everthings still fine).

After the seminar, they are telling me how helpful my two previous friends are and how ambitious they are about preparing to work for primerica. Then they start to throw the stuff at me, the papers to fill out and of course, the $199 payment to attend the classes to become certified with a broker's license. They also state that you will get the money back in the event that you do not like the courses for whatever reason (except for 40 dollars that they don't tell you about but it is stated in the contract.

They told me that they do not take cash but only check, money order or debt and me being guillible at the time along wit the excitement of my friend who had already been to the seminar and was keeping play by play coverage wit me via cellphone text messaging, "gave them my debt card" (how stupid) number to charge it to my debit account Friday April 1st.

Now a few days later i talk to my mother about this and she says it sounds a pyramid scheme (i had no idea what the f@#$# a pyramid scheme was at the time). I Talked to a couple of people about it and everyone agreed that it was a pyramid scheme. So on March 28 (the day after Easter) i'm trying to contact the two recruiters amy and frederick to tell them that i do not want to take the classes at all and to not charge me because i wouldn't have the money in my account to back the $199 charge anyway and that charge would put me under my account.

Now keep in mind that i am not to be charged until April 1 and it is currently march 28. There are no signs of me being charge by the bank at all. They respond to me by text saying that they already sent the paperwork in. I call to tell them myself instead of text messaging them all day and i get no response from either cell phone. One of them i even got the message g3 operator at one point.

By tuesday march 29 i had enough and figured i'll go to the bank to destroy my debit card and get a new one so no charges will come from that card number anymore. Also keep in mind that there are still no charges made or even pending on my account at the time. Still i get no answers to my calls, messages left via voice mail or even the text messaging now.

By wednesday march 30 i go to the bank and there is a pending hold on my account for $199. I ask the bank to put a stop payment on that charge and they say that they can't do anything because the hold is pending and not charged but scheduled to be charged April 1st. I call them immmediately to tell them to stop that payment. I finally make contact with them and they tell me not to worry and that they will stop payment on my account.

By thursday march 31, the hold is still on, the banks still says there is nothing they can do and the recruiters are not answering their phone. I even got another g3 operating message on one of the phones. Now by friday april 1st the charge has gone through, put me under my balance (WAY under) and the bank charges me 30 fine for going under my account (i have to pay bills) my direct deposit from workd is sucked up by the bank to pay for the debt and even that money didn't handle the whole thing which still leaves me at a 75 dollar debt.

I talk to the bank and they said that i should have come to them to put a stop payment on the charge b4 it was cleared (DUH i came to them two days ago on wednesday march 30th to stop the payment and they said "theres they say that they can't do anything because the hold is pending and not charged and nothing can be done until after it is charged but they will put out an investigation that will take 10 business days (2 weeks).

Now i call the recruiters to ask them why they didn't stop the payment. They tell me it was some kind of miscommunication and that the payment that was supposed to be stopped went through and now i have to wait for them to refund me in two weeks for 159 (199 - 40 in the contract) I tell them that they should refund me the 40 dollars as well because it was for a processing fee that was nonrefundable but i told them not to charge me before the transactions were even processed.

They processed it after i told them NO I DON'T WANT TO BE PROCESSED and now they refused to refund that as well as the 30 fine from the bank they caused by charging me when i told them not to... Don't be like me if someone from primerica approaches you say HELL NO
