Reservationrewards ripoff unauthorized credit card charges

I ordered a product from drugstore.com in late November. Their email order confirmation included a separate offer to join reservationsrewards.com - which I declined. On December 29 and again on January 29 the same credit card I used with drugstore.com was charged by reservationsrewards.com - a fee of $9 for each of the two months in question. The $9 monthly charges appeared on my credit card statement as a "continuity - subscription" to reservationsrewards.com.

I phoned the credit card company and disputed the charges. I also called the reservationsrewards.com telephone number that (oddly) appeared on my credit card statement.

Interestingly enough, the customer service person at reservationsrewards.com was very cooperative, and did not even ask me why I wanted to cancel the subscription (which I never ordered in the first place). The customer service person at reservationsrewards.com simply looked up my name and address, confirmed my subscription dispute, and gladly cancelled the so-called subscription and refunded the two months of bogus charges.

It is my contention that this is a SCAM, one that appears to be allowed by drugstore.com. Out of curiosity, after receiving the cancellation confirmation from reservationrewards.com, I replied to their customer service department via their email confirmation. MUCH TO MY AMAZEMENT, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION BACK FROM DRUGSTORE.com AND NOT RESERVATIONREWARDS.com.

Buyer beware!
