On Dec. 9th I had Amerigas come out just to fill my propane tank. They did a service check and the man told me that I had one leak so he capped it off and then he said that he found another leak and had to shut my gas off. I have four children to feed and I use my gas for cooking only. When will my gas be back on? He said I don't know sometime before Christmas was all I was told. He took the propane tank and said he was going to buff it up and have it looking good as new for me. Which I didn't understand that cause if there's nothing wrong with it why not leave it. He told me due to the 2 leaks he found he would have to re-wire my house with the copper wire. Approx. About 50-75 feet of copper wire needed.
I let a few days go by and I called the company and spoke to someone at the office there to find out exactly when will they come out to service my house. I needed my gas to feed my family. I was told Dec. 20 was the earliest they could come out. I said ok Dec. 20 that's fine. But that I had a couple of questions. What exactly did the service man find again? I was told then that he found FOUR leaks. I said no, he said there was two. She said said no he found four and the tank was loosing a certain amount of gas per minute. Which I don't understand how that could be, I've been living here for five months now and I cook almost everyday and most of the time I have the stove running at the same time as the range.
How it could be that I haven't ran out of gas yet and why haven't I smelt anything or had anything happen to me and my family. I mean four leaks just sounds really dangerous when it comes to gas. She got upset when I question the company and said. Well now he can't come out until Dec. 22. When I asked why that was she said because she just seen that that spot was taken by somebody else. She didn't know who but it was taken but there was no name put in the spot it was just filled. So I wouldn't get service until Dec. 22nd.
I called another company and told them of my problem and the person I spoke with gave me another company to call. I called the other company and they sent someone out the day within two days. And guess what... That service man said I did NOT have any leaks at all. I have documentation stating that there is NO leaks at all. So why was Amerigas going to charge me all this money for four leaks and other problems that did NOT exist? How can they get away with doing this to people?
I have called and office and left my name and number twice but I still have not been called back.
