Recall ripoff

I received a postcard informing me of a Kenmore dehumidifier recall. I was told to remove the model and serial # and cut the cord. I was told I would receive a $80.00 check or gift card and a $25.00 coupon to purchase a new dehumidifier. The problem is I paid over $225.00 for my unit. This product was recalled because it was a fire hazard. I am very upset how Sears is handling this recall. It's unfair to expect a customer to pay additional cost to replace a recalled unit. I cannot afford at this time just before Christmas to spend extra money on a product I shouldn't be responsible for. Sears and LG should replace every recalled dehumidifier. I'm very concerned I may develop mold in my home because of this issue. The fact that Sears and LG show no remorse or acknowledge empathy at all.in fact, I went to the store where I purchased the unit and the store manager was not helpful and very rude. At this point I plan to close my Sears account and never purchasing from Sears or LG again.
