Mike Steinmetz and his crew are some of the biggest selfcentered ididots I have ever met. Stienmetz is a shifty dirtbag too. They were hired to paint my house back in August of this past year (04). From the second they arrived on my property to paint a farmers porch, window shutters and the house trim they acted like they owned the place. These people are very rude and manners seem to elude them.
One of his workers brought his dog, a black lab that he let run around my yard all day-and crap on it too-he didnt even have the decency to ask me if I minded him being in my yard all day, he never said a word, just let the animal out not caring how I felt. This man proved to be a total psycho later and is one of the reasons I hate this company-these men left straight razor blades all over my yard too and on window sills after they left-they also left paint scrapers, peices of broken tools they obviously didnt want anymore, boxes of garbage from food they had for lunch in my yard, one with half an eaten whole chicken in it (and when I told them this upset me they outright denied they did it which was a total LIE), they also left dirty paint rags and other items around for me to throw away-like I dont have enough to do...
Mike Steinmetz also gave me an impossible time about the paint I wanted used on my house-I had gone to store and picked out the color I wanted for the farmers porch and for the shutters and I gave him the swatch but he refused to do what I wanted-even thouhg he was working for me... He said he did not use the type of paint that had the color I wanted-"I only use Benjamin Moore paint"-he refused to go get it, and conned me after arguing with hi for 10 mins into beleieving that I could get the same exact colour by having another store mix two blue hues of Benjamin Moore paint-well, needless to say it looked horrible and I was furious. After I saw it I said to him you have to go get the paint I requested the first time-and again he refused and I said fine I'll go buy it then and he said no I'll get a better colour later, and showed me some sample from a book he had-he was adamant about pushing me around, getting his way and not giving a damn about mine even though he was being paid to give me what I wanted-
He gave me some bull about having to finish right then and there wouldnt be time for me to go get the paint I wanted and he would go right now and get the Benjamin Mooore paint-I could not stand this guy-he is bossing me around about my house!!! What a loser... I decieded to let him try the paint deceiding right there if I didnt like it I'd get the paint I wanted and if he woulent use it he was history. I also had told him not to have them come paint the next day because I wa having company and didnt want this persons sleep disturbed and he said fine but sure enough, the next morning there is someone here banging and making noise... The paint he chose wasnt as good as what I wanted and I planned to tell him this the next day when he came back but I wouldnt have the chance.
The psycho man with his dog started pounding on the door for me to open it so he could paint the side of it and he was yelling at me and very rude beucase I coulent get to the door the second he wanted me too-and I had had it so I said to him, you dont have to yell at me and be so rude and he started to flip out and said that's it, I've had it with this lady (he had it with me... LOL) and he calls Mike and says he refused to finish the job. I could not beleive how immature he was and about 20 mins later he took the two other guys and left. Furious I called Mike and he did come back and finish the trim on the house but I never asked him to use the blue paint I wanted because I just wanted them the hell out of my life.
I strongly suggest no one call this company-they don't give a damn about your property or painting what you want painted (they painted some things the wrong color too - blue instead of white etc, after I told them what I wanted done, and they dont paint well either, they are sloppy and not good with fine detail. There are alot of bad buisnesses on Cape Cod and this is defiantly one of them...
