Hello my name is Nancy R. First of all I would like to say that there are 2 companies with the same name and I learned the hard way! I have always dealt with Airko Heating & Cooling in Berwyn since the early 80's well this is my story I had gone to Florida for the winter and my oldest son was staying in the home while I was gone. It was a very cold night and he called me and said what should he do I told him to call Airko so he called 411 and it all started, they gave him the Airko Heating in Itaska which my son wasn't aware. He contacted them they sent out a man that claimed he was the owner he looked at the furnace and told him it needed a $850.00 gas valve my son called me put me on the phone with this man and he was very pushy I told him that that was a lot of money on a furnace that was installed by you in 1996 he said you know what I can leave and you can think about it, so then he tells me instead of going with the part cause he CAN NOT GUARANTTY that it would work he would change my furnace for $2500.00 I told him to put my son back on the phone I told my son Im gonna have him change the furnace so go stay with your friend for the night. He puts the man back on the phone says to him I will go with the new furnace my son has a emergency credit card he will give you the numbers and he will be back in the morning the man said needed deposit tonight so I told him tell my son to give you the card number for 1/2 run the other 1/2 when job is done. The next morning my son met up with the installers they the furnace was banged up my son called me and I told him put me on with the installer he says maam we have no control how the furnace is given to us from the supply house I told him have your boss call me. The boss called was very rude and I have never experienced this type of treatment from a company that I have used for so long he said I will drop the price a $100.00 for the banging of the unit which I thought was nice! The man worked there all day when they were done they didnt clean up their mess my son said my son told me that they kept asking to use the bathroom very very unprofessional!!! My son said the metal on the job was cricket and he feels the job looked sloppy I wasnt there I was just going by what he said. That same night the heat turned off he called them and they told him its late will see you tomorrow! They never came my son played phone tag with them for 80% of the day! They finally came back two days later and told him that the furnace that was installed was the wrong size I was livid then he said his boss told him it will be another 450.00 for the right one I told him fix it or Im calling the attorney generals office I had to raise my voice LOUD! He said lets split the cost I said NO! So days gone by still no answer from this companies poor customer service relations they have I sent my son to see Georgia in the office on ogden ive known her for years he gets there and he tells her what is going on she says we are not doing a job at so and so he says yes you guys are I said let me see the contract he showed her the contract and said that is not their number or address there is another company with the same name they have been getting complaints. My son called me right away from georgias office and he put me on with her she told me that they misrepresented themselves. I hung up with her called the other number on contract that my son signed and I told him tell your guys to get that heater out of my house cause I will report them as fraud for misrepresanting he gave me a had time and charged me $200.00 for the men that worked there and I had to pay it he said I figured pay it! He finally picked up the furnace on Thursday afternoon I called Marco the owner of the right AIRKO HEATING & COOLING NOT AIRKO HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING he came out looked at the job put in a furnace for $2100.00 its a sad situation since the opther company had taken my furnace out I could have asked him to look at it cause I now I think that maybe I didnt need one! My advise to everyone is make sure you are dealing with professionals! & i will always deal with airko heating & cooling in berwyn my whole family will!!
