We purcahsed a $19,000 pool in july. We closed the pool about 3 weeks after it was installed. We opened the pool about 3 weeks ago. After about a week we noticed a black spot in the center of the liner near the drain. I knew it was not there prior to this as the days passed the black spot got larger and started to spread. My husband contacted the Kayak company in NY and they said we had to contact our local company. At that time the rep. On the phone said it sounded like black algea was in the sand, and was showing through the pool and eventually the entire bottom would turn black. He said there is a chemical that can be sprayed on the sand to rid it of the black algea. My husband has made at least 10 calls to our local company and they will not return our call. One girl even hung up on him. If they knew this problem could exist they should have sprayed the sand prior to laying the liner. They were paid in FULL on the day of installation and now we cannot get anyone to call us back or help us out. I'm at my wits end.
